Mark Simpson has significant B2B sales and business development experience in digital learning and international media. Currently working for the Linguaphone Group on their two core global brands Direct English and Pingu’s English, Mark develops business models, builds revenue streams, and recruits licensed partners around the world. Mark’s decade of experience in selling e-learning and virtual reality training systems, including stints at ground-breaking companies like Immerse Learning and Tribal, married with his knowledge of the global language learning market, made him ideally suited to lead the build and sales of new Direct English Live! e-learning eco system. While the pandemic brought a number of business challenges, it also accelerated the Linguaphone Group's development plans for online remote tuition, and Mark took on the challenge of building this new business stream for the company; since the launch of Direct English Live! In August 2020, over 2,000 students have enrolled on a course and a number of partners around the world have adopted the DELI model. Mark holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from Birkbeck, University of London and holds non-executive roles with companies in the recruitment and training sectors. Married with three children, Mark has lived in Asia, Middle East, Europe and the USA and enjoys exploring and trying new things.
