Derrick Horner founded and serves as CEO of H1 Ventures where he works internationally as a strategic advisor to start-ups, scale-ups, established companies and turnarounds. Derrick has a broad range of professional experience, from several years at New York’s top law firm (Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett), several years as General Counsel and/or head of corporate development and strategy at very innovative public and private companies (Source Media, 24/7 Real Media, Massive Incorporated, Vibrant Media), and time well-spent managing startup operations and angel investing. He works mostly with Internet companies, across devices, platforms and channels, where he can be part of ambitious teams working on creative, disruptive and challenging projects. His recent projects have involved generative and multimodal AI, machine learning, data science, loyalty and retail marketing, advertising and marketing technology as well as video games, TV/OTT/VOD content and video/livestreaming. Derrick graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College and cum laude from Harvard Law School where he was a co-winner of the Williston competition.
