I thrive in fast paced, 0-1 environments where learning, experimentation, and clear metrics (and sometimes a little luck) drive decisions.

Later, as a founding editor of PLOS and Managing Editor of PLOS Biology, I led an international team that selected and published outstanding research articles and magazine content across all areas of the biological sciences. I served on the Publications and Ethics Committees for the Society for Neuroscience, the NIH PubMed Central Advisory Committee and on the Journal of Emerging Investigator's Board of Directors. Experienced people first leader focused on teambuilding, strategy, efficiency and organizational development in changing environments.
I adore challenges, helping people achieve their goals, and developing wonderful things from nothing. Whether it’s taking time for one-on-one conversations to help remotivate staff and help the company take advantage of the amazing skills and ideas they bring to the table, reorganizing an existing process or organization to be more efficient, or simply developing and implementing a new idea, product, or strategy, it’s exciting to be able to help move the company and its employees closer to their goals. While I’m a great initiator and experienced people manager, I gain satisfaction from helping others, seeing a task through to completion and from creating both opportunities and stability.
In short, I’m a “make it happen” kind of leader. I have proven experience in helping companies become more efficient, cut costs, improve customer and staff experience or develop new opportunities and revenue streams.
