ASL↔English Interpreter
I am a nationally certified American Sign Language (ASL) & English interpreter through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf. I am a believer in the use of reflective practice and values-based ethics in the field of translation/interpreting. Social justice is central to my practice. My interpreting specialties are patient-provider encounters, organic chemistry, and biomedical sciences. I recently completed the M.S. in Health Care Interpretation program at the Rochester Institute of Technology's National Technical Institute for the Deaf. For my capstone research, I conducted a study on grit, resilience, and the experiences of sign language interpreters in the U.S. who identify as Black, Indigenous, and/or a person of color (BIPOC). The findings of my study are sharable upon request.
