I am an UXR / HCI researcher for AI research and products. Some highlights about me: - 5 years of Sr. UXR experience at Meta, 4 years at the AI research org FAIR. I’ve worked on numerous FAIR AI models and Meta’s AI products, and helped establish UXR function for AI labs. Multiple HCI publications while there (see below). - PhD in Computer Science (focus on HCI and HRI) from UC Santa Cruz. 8 years of academic research in total. 6 PhD internships done in grad school, at Spotify, Google, LinkedIn, and eBay with papers and a patent from these works. My MSc was focused on social robotics. - I have a passion, expertise and relevant experience in conducting foundational research on new interaction paradigms with AI. As an example, Spotify’s AI DJ product was my internship project, which I prototyped myself and did user studies on. - I am also an expert on interactive agents (virtual, robotics, sociable, co-creative, collaborative, etc.). I helped shape Meta’s AI agent UX strategy (from FAIR to GenAI and RL) and frequently review for relevant academic conferences.
