I am a Cybersecurity veteran with nearly two decades in the industry. With a background in economics, my early interests focused on estimating the cost of cyber (in)security & translating that into frameworks for managing risk. I joined the Cybersecurity firm Armorize Technologies during its founding year in 2006, where I developed an extensive global sales network. At Armorize, I developed technical expertise in the field, earning the prominent Certified Ethical Hacker (CeH) qualification. This facilitated the development of successful go-to-market strategies & new applications for existing technologies within the organization, one of which led to the acquisition of Armorize by Proofpoint (Nasdaq: PFPT) in 2013. As Senior Director of Product Management at Proofpoint, I helped develop a new product line that grew from 0 to over USD 350 million annual recurring revenue in less than 5 years, servicing 9 of the top 10 US banks and 56 of the Fortune 100. Much of this work focused on managing engineering, scaling resources & ensuring compliance with data management and privacy laws, as well as extensive research into tracking malicious hacking groups. I am fluent in English, Afrikaans and Mandarin, and have featured as a speaker at Cybersecurity conferences the world over, including OWASP and RSA conferences.
