Guissu Baier is a business-minded, data-driven People leader with 15+ years of experience leading innovative, global organizations by applying root cause problem solving. A trusted thought partner and truth seeker, she leads collaboratively to deliver results. She launched her career as an attorney at a global law firm, was a key member of Visa's Corporate Governance team and Instacart's lead employment counsel. At Instacart, she joined the Executive Team as VP of Human Resources reporting to the CEO/founder. In this role, she transformed the HR function as the startup scaled from 150 to 1000 employees, grew to hundreds of thousands of gig shoppers, expanded into 200+ markets and prepared for IPO. She later co-founded The People Collective, a boutique consulting firm where she worked closely with CEOs and executive teams at high growth tech companies as an interim Chief People Officer. General Catalyst then recruited her to build its People Advisory & Insights practice. At GC, she advised across all stages, sectors and geographies on topics ranging from equity strategy to talent density, published industry-leading reports and designed founder coaching programs. She also spearheaded GC’s Chief People Officer Council, advancing thought leadership on workforce transformation and cutting edge issues like applications of AI on talent strategy.
