Colby Brown is a professional photographer, photo educator and author specializing in landscape, travel and humanitarian photography. Throughout his work one can see that he combines his love of the natural world with his fascination of the world’s diverse cultures. His photo workshops & seminars span much of the globe year after year. Colby has dedicated the last few years of his life combining his passion for photography with his love of travel and adventure. From diving the Great Barrier Reef to climbing peaks in the Himalayas. Surfing the breaks off the North Shore in Hawaii to ice climbing the glaciers of New Zealand. Through these experiences, he has learned the importance of compassion within this dynamic and complicated world we all live in. In 2011 he founded The Giving Lens, whose goal is to combine photo education and support for sustainable development initiatives in developing countries around the globe (www.thegivinglens.com). Over the years, Colby has become one of the most followed photographers on the internet, with follower numbers reaching over 4 million (Google+, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & his Blog). He wrote a book on social media titled "Google+ for Photographers" that was published by Peachpit Press and he regularly consults with some of the biggest companies in the photo and travel industry with regards to helping them find value in social media and its importance in a digital world. With an understanding of the changing trends in photography, technology and marketing, Colby continues to work closely with various companies & entities to design large marketing campaigns via the creation of dynamic content (still images, movies and stories) that reach millions of people around the world.
