Fund Operations at Known | Equity, Climate, and Healing | Exploring intersectional pathways for systemic change

Aanchal Somani is Associate Director of Fund Operations at Known, working alongside a leadership team of seasoned finance professionals and tech entrepreneurs. At the intersection of finance, social, and climate impact, Known exists to serve clients, structure portfolios, and scale projects while supporting people and planet. We’re breaking the age-old narrative that doing good must come at a cost. Aanchal also leads Known operations at large which includes managing vendors for legal, compliance, and technology systems, developing and maintaining internal processes, diligencing and implementing technology solutions, and supporting reporting functions. As their first employee, Aanchal played a key role in building the internal and external infrastructure to stand up Known’s family of businesses, including its SEC and FINRA regulated entities. Outside of Known, Aanchal volunteers as Action Lead at Climate Changemakers (previously Product Lead), a nonpartisan climate policy advocacy organization based in the U.S. with global chapters. As a Climate Reality leader, she is an active contributor to the Climate Reality LA collaboration with the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator to share tools with small business founders to incorporate sustainability into their business models. Aanchal is also a Terra.do 2021 Learning for Action climate fellow. She also creates digital content to spread awareness about climate change. Prior to financial services, Aanchal worked at a social media tech startup guiding product strategy and marketing (fun fact: here she expanded her creative sphere when she scripted and directed a product launch ad). As a technology and management consultant, she advised several nonprofits, consumer tech companies, software companies, and domestic manufacturers to complete digital transformations and improve operational efficiencies. Outside of her day-to-day work, she also served as UNDPI representative and researcher for a global widow-empowerment nonprofit for many years.   She has a strong interest in nature-based climate solutions and sustainable urban development with people at the center of our solutions. Aanchal received her B.A. in International Business, with minors in finance and political science.
