Hello and welcome to my bio, I hope you love it here! After 12 years at Google, I am now doing freelance communications consulting, and yes, that is what George Banks of Father of the Bride called "code for unemployed." I never thought I'd utter a bad word about Steve Martin, but he really didn't help me out with this one!
In addition to my time at Google, I also spent several years writing for Upright Children's Brigade and had my debut picture book published by Macmillan in 2023. My work has been featured in The New Yorker, Funny or Die and on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
Since going freelance, I have worked on press releases, educational content, marketing collateral and speeches for a variety of clients across tech, entertainment and the nonprofit sector. For more information check out my website CaraDevins.com or drop me a line at cara@caradevins.com.
OH, and since you asked, you absolutely can buy 12 million copies of my book. Thank you so much! 👇🏼

I am a filmmaker, tech nerd, and co-founder of Waffle Video. My company provides high-quality, human-shot videos specifically for fine-tuning AI tools across various fields, from media to robotics to medicine. Our growing global network of 1,000+ creators produces brand-new, on-demand footage - each clip is labeled with highly specific metadata and designed exclusively for AI training. All videos are ethically sourced, legally cleared, and our creators are paid every time their footage is licensed - eliminating the legal and ethical concerns around scraped, legacy, or synthetic content.
I was fortunate to gain recognition on the festival circuit as the writer, director, star, and editor of a microbudget horror-comedy feature, so I am now developing an upcoming horror feature with a notable executive producer and sales company attached. With a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Florida, specializing in Machine Learning, plus bachelor's degrees in Statistics and Theatre from Florida State University, I bridge the gap between art and tech. I believe the future of AI should empower creatives rather than replace them, driving Waffle Video's mission to create a fair and innovative marketplace where creatives can thrive in the evolving technological landscape.
