I am an RHCE and Unix/Linux admin formerly specializing in LAMP. In my time in IT, I have worked with a small ISP as a technical support person at the start and left as the system and network administrator. I've owned and operated my own web hosting company handling primarily the technical networking and system sides but also for a time being the primary on financials. I also did similar systems and networking for an NPO, specifically the Church in Austin, whom I still help out with technical issues from time to time. I spent a few years as a technical support and operations analyst for Spansion. In addition to our support responsibilities, my group managed the data center and monitored and responded to all systems in it. This was a great opportunity to develop skills with a broader number of platforms. I then moved within Spansion to a Unix systems engineer, which afforded me even more opportunities to develop new skills such as storage administration, backup configuration and administering High Availability clusters and systems. I then spent some time as a shift lead for Charles Schwab in Data Center Operations. This furthered my knowledge of high availability environments and clustering. I also picked up quite a few additional people management skills during that time.
I've spent some years now back in smaller companies starting with Iverse Media LLC, moving on to Fluent Concepts LLC, and now Library Pass Inc. supporting their server systems, DNS, databases, and network.
