Why do I call myself a Lappish enthusiast of work–life balance? ⚖️ First of all, no matter where I live, as a person with roots in Lapland, my connection to the North remains strong. I have been described as persistent and hardworking—sometimes to the extent that I’ve needed reminders to take care of my own well-being. This is why I want to dive deeper into this “reminder of well-being,” both at work and beyond, especially from the perspectives of mental health and recovery, which I have recognized as my personal challenges too. In practice, successfully work-life balance means that daily life flows smoothly, and different areas of life fit together naturally, complementing one another. Work-life balance becomes particularly important during changing life situations and different career stages. When work and personal life serve as sources of energy for each other, this also reflects positively in the workplace, leading to strong work performance and commitment to the organization.
