An attorney by training, an entrepreneur in spirit, and an executive leader through experience, my career has focused for more than a decade in the sports industry on start-up companies, technology offerings, and pioneering business initiatives. After earning my J.D. at Seton Hall, I went to work for the National Hockey League (NHL) and then Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLB.com). Ever since, I’ve worked at the unique intersection of sports, entertainment/media, and technology – including COO of a pioneering mobile video SaaS offering targeting sports broadcasters and partner in a venture investment firm focused on sports and entertainment firms. I have been intimately involved in all aspects of entrepreneurship, from envisioning the concept, business planning, hiring, operations build out, funds raising, strategic partnerships, outsourcing, finances, marketing, and more. With a focus on action and results, I am a leader who jumps into the trenches, learning and then executing the necessary steps to achieve goals, enthusiastically working to keep everything moving forward to make our shared vision a reality. KEY CONTRIBUTIONS: ► Conducting detailed due diligence and market/competitive analysis of potential investments on more than 2,000 proposed business ideas ► Identifying emerging trends and developing business ideas to capitalize on them ► Building start-ups from conception to launch through proof of concept and growth phases ► Raising financing for development and growth of lucrative business ideas ► Sourcing, structuring, negotiating, and managing strategic partnerships and alliances ► Reviewing, negotiating, and managing contracts, licensing agreements, term sheets, and proposals

Doug Galen has been building innovative and disruptive companies for some twenty five years. Doug Galen is the Co-Founder and CEO of RippleWorks. RippleWorks is relentlessly focused on the needs of social ventures, providing the practical support impactful entrepreneurs and their teams need to improve more lives. We work in 59 countries and have a portfolio of 110 organizations of which these ventures have helped 216 million people. In addition to RippleWorks, Doug teaches Startup Garage at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Doug sits on the Boards of Heifer International and Kenzie Academy as well as advises early stage companies. Prior to RippleWorks, Doug served as Chief Revenue Officer at Shopkick, a mobile app startup backed by Kleiner Perkins and Greylock that successfully sold to a Fortune 50 company, SVP of business and corporate development at Shutterfly where he helped grow revenue from $50 million to $500 million and a successful IPO, VP and GM of new ventures for eBay where he helped create eight new business units with revenues of $500 million and was employee #3 and Vice President of Sales and Business Development for E-LOAN which had a successful IPO.

I am committed to supporting and improving "The Three A's": Academics, Athletics, and the Arts; this is due to my belief and passion that a great education, athletic experience, and arts involvement are for all. My drive is found in helping youth experience a caring, supportive, and fun learning environment. I daily seek to improve the experience for those fortunate enough to already be involved, but also to provide new and more accessible opportunities for the underprivileged. I have been coaching and managing youth sports and education since 2003. After playing four high school sports (cross country, swimming, track & field, and basketball), I ran cross country and track & field for Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. I took four years of art in high school and majored in graphic design in college. I began my coaching career as a volunteer head basketball coach and assistant swim coach at the American International School of Lusaka, Zambia while serving as a photojournalist. After working in Africa for two years, I began working at Darlington School in Rome, Georgia. For nearly a decade I was a graphic design teacher, dorm staff, and varsity head coach for swimming, track & field, and cross country while living on campus at the school. In 2014 my family moved to Germany and I served as athletic director for Black Forest Academy, where I also coached track & field and cross country. I returned to the United States in 2018 and served as Director of Athletics at University Liggett School for four years. I began working for Sora Schools in June 2022.
