Experienced software manager with extensive experience with cloud services, scalability, reliability. I started my professional career whilst studying doing systems- and web development as an independent contractor. I got hired by Linpro in 1998 and worked as a programmer until 2002. The dotcom bubble burst and I got a department head position to help turn the company around. Initially, I was responsible for the managed IT operation. Later I was also given responsibility for a team of consultants as well. January 2007 my responsibilities expanded as I was given control of the company's product and solutions team. In late 2009 I founded Varnish Software. Initially as CEO, later as CTO. I left in 2017 when I was invited to lead IncludeOS. Varnish Software turned out fine is a good and profitable business now. IncludeOS failed to find product/marked fit and was shut down in 2019. Turns out that making an operating system from scratch is harder than I thought. I spent two years as a principal engineer in Knowit Objectnet doing a wide variety of tasks, mostly working in the trenches. I rediscovered my passion for programming. I really believe that managing software development is greatly helped by spending time with the technology In Februray 2021 I joined Celerway Communications working on integrating their routers with a cloud backend.

I'm a product-minded full stack engineer who's deeply passionate about leveraging technology to solve problems. Most of my work, both professionally and privately is done on the web. The ease of development combined with the potential reach of the web makes it, in my opinion, the most exciting platform for innovation. My academic background and personal interest in generalizable AI has, perhaps not surprisingly, become very relevant lately. General AI models represent immense potential value, both because of it's technical capacity to perform work, but also from the fundamental changes to how we interact with technology that could follow. There is more groundbreaking AI coming, but even with what we've seen the last months there is potential to build a wave of valuable products. I'm excited to build some of these ai-powered products, and see what everyone else comes up with. In addition to my technical skills, I bring significant leadership experience at both the tactical and strategic levels. I wouldn't be surprised if my career leans more towards leadership roles over time. However I find so much satisfaction in creating impactful and positive experiences for users that this will be a focus of my professional journey even should I focus more on leadership.
