Collaborative, mission-driven software engineer that has led the development, delivery, and operation of complex software products for consumers, developers, and enterprise within VC-backed startups from incorporation through IPO in a variety of regulated industries and consumer markets including healthcare, energy generation, energy trading, consumer electronics, social messaging, biomanufacturing, and supply chain management.
Deep experience in web, mobile, backend, data, and platform engineering using modern, scalable technologies and agile, product-driven processes. Adept at software and system design, project management, and operational support. Extensive experience with cloud and container-based deployment tools. My career is all about building great consumer products and changing the way we shop. I have done this for some of the most innovative consumer electronics brands and worked with the biggest retailers and marketplaces around the world. My domain expertise spans across Product Management, Business Operations and Consumer Marketing.
There are 3 concepts that are tightly woven into the texture of my career:
1. Builder: I have had the chance of building and expanding the digital footprint of some of the most iconic brands: Apple, eBay, AOL, Roku, Jawbone. Big global companies and scale-ups in hyper-growth mode. Like taking Apple’s Online business to China, Russia and Turkey or building Jawbone’s DTC business from scratch… or rebuilding Roku’s Marketing organization into a full-stack Marketing power house.
2. Growth Generalist: Growth comes in many shapes and forms. I have managed growth along the entire product and customer lifecycle - from product and brand awareness, user/account growth, sales & revenue, profitability, market share, traffic, clicks, product & feature adoption, CSAT, customer lifetime value to churn reduction… Growth is all about connecting the dots and leveraging the right data to create customer delight.
3. Lifelong learner: I gravitate towards roles that come with a stretch goal - repeatedly signing up for something that I have never done before. Like taking a brand / business global, or launching a $30M ad campaign or building the backend for offering same-day delivery to compete with Amazon. That feeds my curiosity and keeps me motivated.
Someone once coined me a middle-brain person, who equally excels at using right and left brain for creative and analytical thinking. I enjoy jobs that give me the opportunity to put my entire brain to work.
I thrive in fast-paced, cross-functional environments, both in start-up & matrixed corporate settings. I am known for my strategic thought leadership w/ execution horsepower. I have built and managed high-performing teams of up to 100 people across geographies and timezones. People say I am a great leader, mentor and coach because I lead with my brain and heart.
