With a background in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Linguistics, and Social Computing, I have experience successfully collaborating with a variety of cross-functional collaborators, including data scientists, software engineers, designers and social scientists in both research and industry environments.
My recent research focuses on AI in SaaS environments. Currently at EvenUp, I am fortunate to be the first UX researcher at this cutting-edge, vibrant startup that taps AI to generate various deliverables to injury law firms. I focus on foundational research, identifying user pain points, new product development, and change enablement.
Prior experience is in the Trust & Safety space; areas of focus have been on Misinformation, Privacy, Human Rights, Online Violence and Child Safety. I'm interested in the use and perception of technology from an international perspective, with an eye toward defining design principles that consider non-Western cultural values. I work to combine 'thick data' with 'big data' to provide in-depth understandings of how information forms, spreads and is consumed by technology users with various goals, and in various cultural contexts. My experience includes field work in the Middle East, Global South, the Sub-Indian continent, Europe and North America.
I am a Professional Data Engineer focusing on the engineering of the data not the infrastructure. Data-driven decision making is a buzzword; however, our decisions are only as good as the data we use and how easy it is to use them. My aim is to increase data literacy which includes topics like modeling, lineage, quality, and governance. This is especially challenging when working with Big Data and the Cloud.
Having graduated with a PhD and worked global across Europe, USA, UK, and Middle East as a data scientist, then product analyst and now data engineer, I have covered various domains such as Music, Ads, Fraud, Revenue, Search and Marketing.
My professionalism brings maturity, calm, proactivity, and structure. My excellent communication skills bring clarity and focus to keep stakeholders informed about change, disruption, and progress.
My strength is it to create sustainable and lean solutions that are useful and have a wide impact across the company.
The way I work can be narrowed down to the following principles:
• Keep it simple: This applies to technical work, but also in communications. Complexity usually results in misunderstanding and problems. By simplifying, you can break it down into different layers.
• Structure yourself: I am a very organized person. I believe everyone that works with me can understand my work.
• Documentation is crucial: I have extremely strong documentation and recording skills. Producing detailed, clear documents that outline complex topics in clear terms for all stakeholders to consume. This creates a curated knowledge bank, for future understanding.
