Growing companies through strategic marketing is my business. It’s also my passion that's taken me through a 27-year career managing international and national marketing departments as an in-house leader, outside consultant, and business owner, all working directly with senior-level management. As the Chief Marketing Officer of the Washington D.C. Metropolitan-based marketing firm, CCS Innovations®, I spend each day solving business puzzles and my clients’ challenges, sourcing skills earned throughout my experience-rich marketing career. My strategic, common sense approach mixed with a willingness to roll up my sleeves and get to work, no matter the obstacle, that has earned me a reputation as a business ‘miracle worker’. My marketing skills have benefited businesses at all stages, from start-ups to firmly established corporations, in a wide range of industries. My diverse background has included marketing some of the world’s biggest brands as well as countless smaller businesses. I have guided two consulting firms from a single office without a marketing program to worldwide expansion in just a couple of years, earning Inc. 500 and Business Journal ‘Fastest Growing Company’ awards along the way. In 2014, I was named one of the Top 40 Digital Marketers, Globally, by the Online Marketing Institute. Helping others achieve business growth is what led me to write, I Think I Need Marketing: the Knowledge You Need to Build and Manage a Successful Marketing Program. Kevin P. Young is a RETIRED corporate executive, management consultant and adjunct professor with a long and successful history in the planning and execution of Marketing, Business Development and Business Management strategy, programs, processes and metrics across multiple industries. He has served in SVP / VP roles for three FORTUNE 500 companies: LandAmerica Financial, Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) and Unisys. Achievements over 45 years include announcing AS/400 and RISC System/6000 for IBM; international expansion for Unisys; commercial expansion for LandAmerica and SAIC; and launching USA TODAY for Gannett. IBM honors include the Outstanding Achievement in Marketing Award, the Award of Excellence, and (as site team) the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award via the U.S. Department of Commerce. Management consultant clients include Amdocs (Israel), Capgemini (France), CIS Secure Computing, Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), Deloitte, Deltek, General Dynamics, ITT Exelis, Leidos, Markel, SYNERGY ONE (now Apple) FCU, and USE (China). Mr. Young also served as a 16-year Adjunct Professor of Marketing for George Mason University’s School of Business; he is a professionally qualified, AACSB- and SACS-accredited faculty member. Publishing credits include Time-Life Books, USA TODAY and Washington Technology, while speaking engagements include CMO Summit, Government IT Sales Summit, and Government Marketing Best Practices Forum.
