Vishal Vaidhyanathan is a Product Innovator, Creative Technologist and a Mediums Researcher, with a focus on AI-driven systems of creation, and human-in-the-loop technological methods-of-make. Vishal is currently the Founding Lead of AI and Generative Systems @ Cedar Build. With over 7 years of experience in Computational Design Research, Generative AI Systems Innovation, Human-Computer Interaction Design and Product Prototyping, Vishal has been actively involved in strategising technical frameworks, prototyping + scaling products, developing tools + workflows and designing mediums + interactions for the next generation of ethical and sustainable systems that are intelligence-driven and data-informed; bolstering multiple fast-growing venture backed startups in the AI SaaS space, as well as critical organisations and teams of industry leaders like Autodesk and NVIDIA. With a Master’s in Design Studies from Harvard University and a Master’s in Sustainable Design from Carnegie Mellon University, Vishal’s research aims to redefine the paradigm of design, and push the boundary of what’s possible in design - with technology. Through several publications, patent and conference talks spanning design research, system architectures, user-research, technology frameworks and product prototypes, Vishal strives to build capacity in creative agency through technology innovation; expand accessibility to create, through interaction design; and advocate democracy in creative thinking and communication, through developing radically new mediums. Vishal is also a licensed architect with a Bachelor’s in Architecture from the National Institute of Technology, Trichy, India, loves making music, plays tennis and always up for a cup of coffee!
