Sebastian Benkert is Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), responsible for Galaxy’s global brand and performance marketing across all business lines and market segments. Prior to Galaxy, Sebastian spent almost eight years at ARK Invest. As CMO, he and his team pioneered a modern approach for marketing in the asset management space. He oversaw all marketing efforts, including partnerships in EMEA and APAC, and helped ARK grow to over $75 Billion in total assets by 2021. Prior to ARK, Sebastian worked for several years in advertising. As a project manager for the agency Oestreicher+Wagner (Munich, Germany), he worked closely with companies such as BMW Group to guide their digital transformation. Sebastian founded his own design and marketing shop in 2016 and consulted for several early-stage startups in areas such as fintech, AI, and maritime technology. Sebastian received a Bachelor of Engineering in Media Technology from Munich University of Applied Sciences. He is a German Fulbright Scholar and earned his M.S. in New Media Management from the Newhouse School, as well as his MBA from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University.
