My journey into Blockchain and Crypto At the close of 2017, I took a reflective pause, surveying the path I’d forged in SW and HW infrastructure and HPC projects. While building is exhilarating, it didn’t resonate to keep building tech that was increasingly used to lock users into networks where identity and data were captured and monetized. Instead of users’ interests being opposed to profits, could technology become a bigger part of our lives without taking ownership of it? I was looking for tech to extract less and contribute more to us all. Blockchain emerged as my beacon—a transformative force with the potential to redefine digital ownership, identity, and data privacy. I dove headfirst into the world of crypto, spending almost six years in the R&D space, exploring core protocols, L1 and L2 infrastructure, and strategic investments. Witnessing buidlers marry performance and decentralization has been nothing short of exhilarating. The next step is to expand core crypto security from its home in L1 blockchains and into the rest of the technology space. Hence, I’m excited to help Eigenlayer project Ethereum’s security across crypto and into a general-purpose framework for open source software as user-owned and run p2p networks (aka web3). Before Blockchain and Crypto My early career unfolded within Sun Microsystems’ Product and R&D divisions. Simultaneously, I pursued my PhDs in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Stanford—an intellectually invigorating phase that laid the groundwork for my future endeavors. Oracle beckoned briefly, but my entrepreneurial spirit yearned for more. Thus, I co-founded Pluribus Networks, a software-defined startup on a mission to propel networking into the 21st century. Beyond technology, I’ve honed my skills in team-building, sales, marketing, and venture capital. My startup journey has been my real-life MBA—an education in resilience, adaptability, and the art of turning vision into reality. In the ever-evolving tech landscape, I thrive on perpetual learning. Change is our constant companion, and I embrace it. My expertise spans application paradigms, data protocols, API intricacies, programming languages, operating systems, and even the nitty-gritty of chips and transistors. It’s a thrilling time to be in tech—a canvas where innovation meets impact. Join me as we shape the future, one line of code at a time. 🚀
