Founder & CEO of FlowState.com
Rian Doris is an Entrepreneur and Cognitive Scientist. His path into this work began with a traumatic brain injury at age 13, after a life threatening accident that resulted in over seven years of debilitating neurological symptoms. That experience led him to an early obsession with understanding optimal states of consciousness — an inquiry that became the foundation of his career.Rian went on to work with world-leading figures in psychology and neuroscience, including Dr. Dan Siegel, where he became a contributing editor to psychology textbook, The Developing Mind.He later co-founded Flow Research Collective with Steven Kotler, one of the world’s leading experts on flow state. As CEO, Rian grew Flow Research Collective from zero to $15M in revenue in two years without outside funding, surpassing $50M in cumulative revenue within about five years.Under his leadership, Flow Research Collective became the world’s leading neuroscience-based performance training organization. Rian led a team of 20+ neuroscience and psychology PhDs and trained organizations including the U.S. Air Force, Audi, Accenture, Meta, Bain, Calendly and more than 15,000 founders and executives worldwide. The company’s research partnerships with Imperial College London, Jefferson University, and UCLA appeared in academic journals such as Nature Neuroscience and in outlets including Harvard Business Review, TIME, and Fast Company. Rian was also named to Forbes 30 Under 30.In parallel, Rian built one of the largest public education platforms on flow state, with a YouTube series reaching over 20 million views and 400,000+ subscribers in 18 months — the fastest-growing channel of its kind in the industry. He later acquired Consulting.com, the world’s leading business education platform for online consultants, and successfully exited the company after two years. Alongside this work, Rian is an angel investor and startup advisor and has had multiple unicorn successes. Academically, Rian holds a Master’s degree in Neuroscience from King’s College London and an undergraduate degree in Philosophy from Trinity College Dublin.
