My varied career as a corporate lawyer has been on the television, telecommunication, and start-up sectors. In recent years, however, my focus has been on the transformative power of Bitcoin and Blockchain technology. I lecture on Digital Currency Regulation and have spoken at Blockchain conferences around the globe. In short, I know a fair bit about both Digital Currency and Blockchain technology. OK... I admit I am a geek at heart. This knowledge is anchored by practical experience, as I have co-founded and built successful Bitcoin and Blockchain businesses. In my earlier career, as a common-garden-variety lawyer, I acted for clients on all sorts of commercial and corporate matters. My key interest was always on how to turn an idea into a business. Services I provided to ventures that were raising capital included: structuring the investment vehicle; incorporating companies; preparing information memorandums; holding investment funds on trust; drafting shareholder agreements and constitutions; engaging directors, executives, and staff; as well as overseeing company secretarial compliance and procedures. That deep practical experience means I have a particular interest in launching new businesses and how solid governance practices can be applied when funding business growth. My old profile stated: "My other passion is business development and the drama of corporate strategy and business building. I can really relate to clients who are fast-growing SMEs or those doing the hard yards of establishing and building a new business. That's exactly what we're also doing at Adroit Lawyers: we're walking the talk...." That was so true, that in early 2016, I closed the firm and devoted myself to founding a Blockchain company.
