I’m an experienced CEO and Board Director with expertise in leading early-stage and high-growth VC and PE-backed software (B2B, SaaS, cloud) companies across multiple core business functions (sales, marketing, product, operations, corporate development) and in various C-suite capacities (CEO, COO, CPO, CMO). My industry experience has included product development planning and tools software, application security software, mobile application management software, and data visualization and analytics software for companies with top-tier private equity and venture capital investors (TA Associates, TPG Capital, Diversis Capital, Lead Edge Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners, Intel Capital, Kleiner Perkins, North Bridge Venture Partners, Converge Venture Partners). Across my broad career, I’ve excelled at driving strategic and profitable growth because of my ability to conceptualize and shape future business opportunities by consuming industry research, conferring with customers/partners, and assimilating it from vision to execution. My background in sales and marketing has provided me with a unique skillset that’s transcended into improving a company’s positioning, conceiving new products to bring to market, nurturing existing relationships, and fostering new partnerships. On the corporate development side, I deeply understand buy- and sell-side transactions (8 company acquisitions; 5 acquisitions as CEO; 3 company sales) and how they support a company’s strategic plans for sale, exit, and integration. As a transformative leader, I’m equally passionate about attracting, developing, and retaining talent, including creating accessible, flat, and culture-first organizations. I thrive on repositioning stalled organizations, creating improved business processes, broadening product lines, upgrading management teams, and introducing key metrics to analyze, track, and enable significant business growth with long-term vision. Fun facts: I love spending time with my wife and teenage kids, whether it’s boating, fishing, hiking, skiing, BBQ'ing, or cycling. I ride the Pan Mass Challenge (100-mile ride) annually to raise money for cancer research. I’m also a US Coast Guard (USCG) licensed Captain and Master of Commercial Vessels to 50 Gross Tons.
