Lucy M. She also leads Risk and Sustainability for the firm, and is an executive sponsor of the Firm's Women's employee resource group. Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Lucy was Deputy General Counsel and the Head of Legal for the Americas for McKinsey & Company, Inc., a $10+ billion global management consulting firm with operations in 67 countries. Bicultural and bilingual with native-level Spanish, Lucy is a board and executive strategic advisor, general counsel, corporate lawyer, and thought / people leader who has had extensive impact globally. In her 25+ years of experience, Lucy has played critical roles in business expansions. She has helped launch new business lines, closed commercial deals with Fortune 100 / 500 multinationals, supported integration of analytics, data, and tech companies, and served as the project lead for the opening of offices globally. Committed to talent acquisition and development, Lucy has built and led distinctive, business-oriented teams of legal professionals who support rapidly evolving businesses. In her last role, she led a team of 80+ legal professionals. Lucy started her legal career at the Manhattan offices of AmLaw 25 law firm Debevoise & Plimpton, where she was a corporate lawyer in the International and Latin America practice groups. At Debevoise, Lucy facilitated large corporate transactions and financing deals. Passionate about making the world a better place, Lucy has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the $10+ million nonprofit, Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC, since 2010 and her work has been honored by the Mayor of NYC. She was the President of the Board of Trustees from 2019 to 2021. In 2018, Lucy was honored with the LatinoJustice Trailblazer award, which was established in honor of former LatinoJustice Board member U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor and given to Latina lawyers whose work inspires the pursuit of professional, political, and social achievements.
