From Biopsychology to engineering🧠➡️💻 A journey I wouldn't have envisioned when I first started college but a journey I would go through again. I initially started on the premed route majoring in Biopsychology due to my interest in psychology and biology. I graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 2019, and right before graduation I took a class called brain cell analysis where we used python / matlab to analyze serotonergic neurons which exposed me to the world of engineering and I dove in head first, taking courses online and honing my skills overtime. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working at companies like Google, Facebook, Stealthtest.io, and now Calico Life Sciences. At Calico, I focus on frontend development, building Micro-Frontend (MFE) infrastructure and developing data-intensive applications with a strong emphasis on performance and speed. While my day-to-day leans toward the frontend, I still enjoy tackling backend tickets using Python and FastAPI whenever I can. Having worked in full-stack roles before, I’m comfortable navigating backend systems too. I’m passionate about creating applications that are fast, resilient, and scalable. I’m always looking to push myself to the next level—whether that means improving my craft, learning something new, or just solving harder problems. Outside of work: I love working out 🏋️♂️, playing basketball (Go Lakers!), and challenging myself in a game of chess ♟️. I sometimes read for fun when I have time—nothing beats a good book 📚. My most-searched phrase on Google? "X effect on Y NCBI". Let’s connect! I’m always up for a conversation about tech, learning, and expanding my horizons.
