I'm an experienced Security Software Engineer who delivers critical security solutions, collaborates well across organizations, communicates effectively, and obsesses over the customer experience. Before joining Apple I spent over a year teaching full-stack web development to 15-25 women per quarter at Hackbright Academy. I had to learn new technologies as fast as I could to help my students debug, which made me comfortable diving into any new codebase. As a developmental editor at No Starch Press, I edited books on programming, electronics, networking, iOS security, privacy, reverse engineering, and game hacking. Naturally, I needed to learn each subject well enough to help authors improve their explanations. This exercise left me with a knack for navigating documentation and communicating technically that still serves me well. At the University of Florida I majored in electrical engineering but dedicated my elective slots to computer science. I built robots, wrote a packet capture tool from scratch, learned the Linux command line by practicing buffer overflows in online wargames, and worked with librarians and fellow students to raise awareness of open source software and open access to research in my community.
