As Director of Greatest Good McDonogh, I lead McDonogh School’s signature social impact program, connecting our LifeReady academic program with meaningful community engagement from pre-K through grade 12. Our work empowers students to cultivate empathy, advocate for others, understand complex systems, and take purposeful action I collaborate with faculty, nonprofit partners, and student leaders to design projects that inspire civic responsibility and lifelong commitment to doing the greatest possible amount of good. As the Charles W. Britton Director of Character and Service, I work to ensure that these same principles are woven through the fabric of our school culture. Guided by the points in McDonogh’s Character Compass—honesty, kindness, respect, responsibility, and service—this work aligns seamlessly with Greatest Good McDonogh, reinforcing our belief that character is not taught in isolation but cultivated through authentic experiences that connect learning, leadership, and community impact. Together, these programs help students connect who they are with how they can make a difference.
