People spend a third of their lives at work. Giving them a paycheck in exchange is not enough. That’s what drives everything I do as the CEO of Seabreeze Management, a 500+ employee company with over 100,000 HOA properties under management. Three values exemplify that philosophy: 1) People: Without its people, a company is nothing. And without the people it serves, it would go bankrupt. People are everything, and my aim is to build an environment where they feel seen, heard, valued, and ultimately loved. 2) Performance: There’s a lot of apathy in the property management space, and homeowners can sit there out of the loop, feeling like their needs aren’t being taken care of. That’s why we’re deploying software that provides them a transparent window into every pending task within a community. 3) Passion: We’re passionate about serving. But not just our clients. We’re always looking for ways to serve our team members better and ensure they’re feeling fulfilled. Three ways in which we take care of our own: 1) Career Catalyst Conversations: We meet with team members quarterly to find out where they want to go. Whether that’s a higher role, different responsibilities, or even moving to a different state, we want to make that happen. When company and employee goals are aligned, everyone wins. 2) Results-Driven Culture: We care about results. If you can deliver them on a beach in Tahiti or while pursuing other passions in your life, power to you. We’re not interested in people for the sake of warming office chairs. We treat team members like adults, meaning we trust them to do their work in whatever way suits them best. 3) Giving Back: I believe that business at its best is a vehicle for positive change. That’s why we have several initiatives in place aimed at giving back to both our team members when they’re in need and the greater community.
