I’ve been reflecting on my over 20 years journey in finance, accounting and strategy and I am frankly privileged to have been given an opportunity to collaborate and engage with excellent and committed diverse teams of people, professionals and staffers of many fields and walks of life, in a few of the finest institutions in the world. Together, we accomplished what many thought was impossible. Sometimes I was the visionary and /or functional leader, sometimes an independent contributor, always a team player. I see myself as a mission-driven agent that enables regeneration and value creation, someone that brings transparency, determination, creativity, perseverance, collaboration, communication, empathy, and new possibilities for growth. Either as the CFO of a global complex humanitarian aid institution pursuing a new strategy and helping them reconnect the dots between Finance and Program collaboration, or the finance lead in charge of a turnaround and restructuring finance area, as a finance and accounting leader stepping into a financial leadership vacuum or temporary gap, or as a fractional CFO advising tech startups from underrepresented founders, my experience speaks of my deep desire and drive to work with likeminded people to create a more just, fair and equitable world for all of us, starting with the most underserved and disadvantaged. Along the way, I have accomplished some good stuff including being unexpectedly granted two environmentally related awards, including the California Governor Environmental and Economic Leadership Award as part of a multidisciplinary team that bet on piloting emerging renewable investments pursuing at the time the novel idea of scalable environmental social justice. I have very deep finance technical expertise, honed in working in entities of all sizes and over 15 industries and sectors in for-profit, government and non-profit, raising a couple hundred Million USD in many different types of sources of new financing, managing amazing domestic and global teams, managing US Federal, State, Local and Foreign governments grants, and managing over USD $ 1 Billion in investments, including endowments and pension assets, as well as large foreign real asset investments, and being involved in the management of a mission-driven corporate venture fund. I believe the best is yet to come. So, I look forward to continuing engaging with multiple stakeholders and teams of devoted people that seek to build and regenerate even if the world around seems to be falling apart. I will not fall apart, and I’ll be there for you all.
