I have dedicated my career to growing the Node.js Ecosystem. I was instrumental in the formation of the Node.js Foundation, and was a founding member. I served on the Node.js Foundation Board of Directors as Director and Secretary. I am referred to as "The Godfather of Node.js" for my tireless efforts to build community and unite the needs of developers and business leaders. I speak about Open Source, Technology, Leadership, Node.js, JavaScript and Digital Transformation. I am recognized as the “Voice of Node.js” as long-time host of the NodeUp podcast. I have created numerous events like EnterpriseJS, NodeDay, the SFNode meetup, which provide opportunities to gather and share knowledge. In the 2010’s, I created the first consulting company dedicated to Node.js with The Node Firm. Then the first company to productized Node.js with NodeSource. I enjoy creating software with Node.js and had the pleasure to work at a number of Node.js startups including the Infrastructure Team at Voxer, leading the Socket.io scaling effort at Spreecast, and as Lead Engineer at Storify.
