Fortune 100 Chief Data & Analytics Officer with 25+ years leading teams and building data/AI/ML solutions that drive business outcomes leveraging data, predictive analytics, qualitative research and a customer-centric lens. I have spent my career working for industry-leading, digital native disruptors (MLBAM/BAMTech & WeWork), traditional industry leaders (New York Life, Northwestern Mutual, Major League Baseball) and co-founded a couple of startups. I'm grateful for all the lessons and relationships along the way. I’m currently Chief Data & Analytics Officer at New York Life, leading AI & data strategy and execution across the company’s $58B business. Immediately before coming to New York Life I was Chief Data Officer at Northwestern Mutual (NM), leading data & AI strategy and execution across the company's $34B insurance and wealth business. I also helped lead the Northwestern Mutual Data Science Institute, a partnership between NM, Marquette, and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I was also on the Investment Committee of NM Ventures. Before NM, I led WeWork's consolidated Central Data & Analytics team, driving data analytics for digital and physical space across 650+ global locations. It was a wild and special ride through hyper-growth, an aborted IPO, and the subsequent transformation driven by SoftBank. Prior to that, I worked for MLB for 13 years. When I left the league I was head of its consolidated Analytics Org (Data Science, Analytics, User Research, and Strategic Development) as VP Data & Analytics. In that role, I leveraged quantitative data, qualitative research, purpose-built analytics platforms, and deep analysis of strategic league growth opportunities (M&A, etc) to help drive the league’s $10B+/year business. While at MLB I also led Data Analytics (Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Data Science, Growth) as VP Data & Analytics at MLB Advanced Media (MLBAM) and BAMTech, the streaming media tech spin off that built HBO Now, WWE Network and others. BAMTech was acquired by Disney in 2017 and is now the backend of Disney+, ESPN+, Hulu etc. I am also a founding member of Stand with Asian Americans, a national organization of business leaders formed in 2021 that raised over $1.7M for non-profits and helped lead national efforts for change.
