Ian White is a consultant, startup advisor, and three-time founder/CEO with 30+ years building data-centric products in financial services, insurance, logistics, and information-intensive industries. I specialize in sourcing unconventional data from unexpected sources to power advanced risk analytics that deliver superior predictive insights and transformative risk management.​ Currently, I lead a data-driven consulting practice for startup MGAs, carriers, brokers, and insurtechs—accelerating market entry for insurance-adjacent businesses, designing insurance programs and alternative risk transfer structures, building telematics/AI data strategies and supporting fundraising. Representative clients include Cambridge Mobile Telematics, Acrisure, Motive and RB Jones. I incubate MGA programs by partnering with carriers and capacity providers, leveraging expertise in distribution, underwriting, compliance, analytics, loss control, and claims to assemble world-class teams—anchored by data strategy and technology alignment. This integrates rigorous risk management, actuarial science, and advanced analytics to validate mitigation, enabling precise underwriting, pricing, compliance, and portfolio decisions for MGAs and reinsurers.​ Previously, I founded Koffie Financial, a trucking insurtech MGA that raised institutional VC, scaled to dozens of employees, wrote $40M in premium while maintaining underwriting profitability through modern rating factors, selling to Acrisure in 2024. Earlier, I built Urban Mapping (sold to Pitney Bowes in 2015) for geospatial intelligence and worked at Thasos Group, turning mobile data into real-time economic indicators for institutional investors through alternative data. Earlier in my career I was adjunct at Parsons School of Design and consulted to the financial services industry.
