PURPOSE OF MY WORK To design imaginative strategies to increase Climate Change understanding and reduce climate anxiety. I believe in the power of project-based learning (PBL), especially for art-sci “maker” experiences that center people’s feelings alongside science factoids and expressive slogans. That empowering *process* can unleash participants’ capacity for understanding and taking action on climate change, while providing the skills for building emotional and mental resilience to “climate anxiety” and despair. I'm deeply interested in mentoring college art/design students in how to create these types of public engagement projects in communities. So, I've up-cycled my art/design/craft skills and 30+years experience as a seminal leader of the now global art-sci field (see below re: founder of ASCI) to conceptualize an "ArtSci-Climate LAB" model and am seeking potential educational institution(s) to prototype and test it. A PDF of the LAB's Project Description is posted at this link... https://www.linkedin.com/posts/activity-7177454199503257602-KHB8 [You'll have to copy/paste all links here & below.] Please let me know what you think about the feasibility of the LAB, and visit my website homepage and the DESIGNS page for several environmental projects I did during my 30+ years as the artist/founder-director of Art & Science Collaborations, Inc. (ASCI) in New York City. I am dedicating full-time now to the LAB and also developing the new art-sci engagement projects at the links below: ~ Agri-Culture Series: SOIL BigHat [climate change and agriculture/food] https://artsci-climate.com/agri-culture-soil/ ~ HABs Group Quilt: Building Lake Stewards [Harmful Algal Blooms/ adaptable to any climate issue] https://artsci-climate.com/habs-group-quilt/ ~ Climate Change EmergencyCap Maker Workshop [to reinforce understanding & promote conversations] https://artsci-climate.com/video/ ~ Climate Change Fashion Statements Workshop [proposing *everyday* vehicles for climate messages] https://artsci-climate.com/fashion-statements/ Perhaps we would *make* good collaborators :) Cynthia Pannucci cynthiapannucci@gmail.com https://ArtSci-Climate.com
