Christopher Brown is a leading bass guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, producer and educator based in Washington DC. He has performed on 5 continents in a huge variety of musical styles ranging from Rock and Pop, Jazz, Funk, Gospel/Worship, Musical Theater, Electronic, World Music and more with over 20 years experience performing and teaching around the world. Performance and recording highlights include Ron Holloway Band (including appearances with Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks, Warren Haynes, Jimmy Vivino (Conan O'Brien), Kofi Burbridge, Gabe Stillman, Texas Chainsaw Horns, The Tedeschi Trucks Horns, John Kadlecik of Furthur), Daniel Lanois, John Mayer, Brian Blade, Eddie Bayer, BJ Cole (Bjork, Sting, Dire Straits) Pete Friesen (Alice Cooper), Moonshine Society, DC Improvisers Collective and countless others. Has appeared on 50 albums as bassist and/or producer. As an educator Chris has taught privately since 1997 offering an holistic approach to adults and children alike learning music on bass, guitar, piano, drums and with music technology. Instrumental technique, reading, ear training, composition, improvisation, recording/mixing, computer music, live looping. He is a patient and effective teacher who has helped students enter Berklee College of Music, Academy of Contemporary Music (UK), Leeds College of Music (UK). Extensive experience working with students with a variety of learning styles and disabilities. Chris has also worked with world class educators, instructing and coaching them in using Music Technology in their teaching and professional musical careers. Also have consulted on curriculum and music technology at Levine Music, the Field School, and created curriculum and resources for Bach 2 Rock (US) and the Academy of Contemporary Music (UK).
