Co-Founder @ Platter (Shopify Platinum Agency) | Forbes 30u30
During my time at Gopuff, I realized that ecommerce had a massive problem. I had the privilege of getting a seat at the table with some of the largest Shopify brands in the world during my time there. It was the most eye-opening experience of my career, and marked the moment I recognized there was a problem I needed to solve. Let me explain: You come across a brand making tens of millions in revenue, with a billboard in every peak moment, and has all the biggest celebrities pushing their product. They must have it all figured out, right? Wrong. Time and time again, I would talk to CEOs running $10m+ brands complaining their online storefront was complicated, slow, expensive, and hard to manage. I’d ask who built your storefront? The consistent answers gave me the lightbulb moment. → “We hired a freelancer to build an off-the-shelf theme”. Great in theory, but you get what you pay for. This infrastructure doesn’t scale with the business. → “I used the agency my friend recommended”. I love the agency model, but they’re often misaligned with your goals. When you trade time for money at every moment in the scope, efficiency isn’t incentivized. → “I built it myself.” Promising in theory, but most brand operators aren’t designers or conversion rate optimization experts, they’re brand builders. So I dropped everything and started Platter. A better way needed to exist to build a high-converting Shopify store. Consumerism drives our economy; if we help brands sell more products easily, everyone wins. As a founder, my job boils down to two things: 1. Recruit people much smarter than me to help build this amazing product. 2. Ensure that Platter is the first thing that merchants think of when they want to build a high-converting Shopify store. We work with over 150 fast-growing ecommerce brands, from startups to Fortune 500s, including Neuro, Every Man Jack, and Ministry of Supply. Want to work with us? Here are 4 ways to get started: 1.
