I walked into my first engineering class, took one look around, and thought: Nope. Not for me. Dropped it. Switched to chemistry. Minored in environmental science. Thought I’d save the planet. Ended up in law school instead. For 6 years, I fought legal battles as an environmental lawyer – until I realized the real challenge wasn’t just the law; it was HOW they did their work! Why were lawyers drowning in inefficiency? Why did processes feel stuck in the past? So, I pivoted. Spent 7 years at Axiom helping legal teams untangle their operations and rethink how they worked. Then the next few years at Meta (fka Facebook), building legal ops programs to streamline how a 2,000 person legal team functioned. After that, close to 2 years at Coinbase, scaling legal ops in the fast-paced world of crypto. But I wanted to do more than optimize; I wanted to build. That’s what brought me to SpotDraft. Now, as COO, I get to combine everything I’ve learned – legal, business, strategy, people and tech, to scale a company that’s transforming how legal teams work. It’s a full-circle moment! Somewhere along the way, I picked up a law degree from Santa Clara University, where I now teach as an Adjunct Professor (yes, I willingly stand in front of a room full of law students). And while I’ve spent most of my career in legal tech, I’ll always be a proud California Golden Bear at heart.
