Since my corporate beginnings at PwC, I’ve spent the last 10 years starting and exiting two fintech businesses, and developing unique skills as a product leader and operator. After PwC I decided to pursue my passion for technology and entrepreneurship, moving into product and starting my first startup, ProConfirm, account verification software for banks and accounting firms. It was acquired in 2014 by Confirmation.com, where I went on to sell and implement the software into over 50 UK banks including HSBC, Citibank, and Santander. I also played a key role in the launch of BBA Confirmations - the first commercial partnership with the British Bankers Association (now UKFinance) since BBA Libor. Coconut, my second startup, was accepted into Techstars, one of the world’s top accelerator programmes. We launched with a business current account product in 2018, which grew to 26k customers and £1m annual revenues in 3 years. As one of the first companies to integrate with Open Banking, we were one of 2 companies to win all 4 stages of Nesta's Open Up challenge. Coconut’s ‘Excellent’ rating on Trustpilot is testament to the high-performing team we built, which was 30 at its peak across product, engineering, marketing, sales and support. In 2023, we sold the business to GoSimpleTax. I enjoy building and coaching high performing teams to find creative solutions to tough problems, using data and research to create delightful customer experiences and deliver great commercial outcomes. Experienced in both leadership and IC roles, I am passionate about projects making a positive impact on the world in the short time that we’re here.
