I bring more than 15 years worth of experience in developing and maintaining software and infrastructure for enterprise, web, desktop and mobile platforms. I have - Cofounded and bootstrapped the tech division of a startup that was acquired - Delivered solutions across different domains including Telecom and Finance for large enterprises, Multimedia, as well as small and medium businesses. Core expertise includes • Enterprise integration. • Application architecture. • Web programming using open source frameworks and runtimes (primarily JVM languages). • Process automation. • Client interaction including requirements gathering, analysis, support and estimation. • Hiring good technical talent. • Implementing software engineering practices. I’m an active Free and Open Source Software enthusiast. Started up the now defunct Linux users’ group in Trivandrum (India). Currently involved with Swathanthra Malayalam Computing (http://smc.org.in), an Indic language computing project. I help with community activities, and was an org admin/mentor for Google Summer of Code for SMC. Current career goals: • Take on software engineering challenges that I haven't solved before, especially in the areas of scale and reliability. • Work with people to ship things. I'd rather be in a job where I can work with people to make the users happy than get into a place where processes become hindrances. Ideally, in a work place where the teams are responsible and evolve practices that work for them.
