UX for Change | 1,681 followers on LinkedIn. We enable positive change in the world by connecting the purpose-driven sector with the UX community | UX for Change was launched on March 8th 2015, at the Talk UX Conference in Manchester, UK, and is the first organisation of its kind. UX for Change emerged from the founder, Sandra Gonzalez, original challenge of how to mobilise the UX design community to get involved with the 2013 UK legislation that focused on teaching children as young as five how to code, but with no plans on teaching them how to design human-centred experiences for the improvement of their community and their own lives. The organisation has been active for a decade across the world, and its focus has widened to meet new challenges focused on supporting positive social and planetary impact, such as utilising technology to aid refugees, providing internet safety tools and techniques for gender-diverse children, and giving consumers powerful information about their carbon footprint, to name a few.
