Medical College of Georgia, founded in 1828, presently a part of Augusta University (named changed by Board of Regents Sept. 2015), is the 13th-oldest continuously operating medical school in the United States and the third-oldest in the Southeast. Currently, it is one of nine colleges that comprise Augusta University. Facilities include modern classrooms and laboratories across two campuses, the 540-bed Georgia Regents Medical Center, the Children’s Hospital of Georgia, extensive outpatient clinics, residence halls, a student center, a wellness center and an outstanding health sciences education library.
