Health Impact Fund | 628 followers on LinkedIn. Making medicines available for all | The Health Impact Fund is a proposed new way to incentivize the development and delivery of new medicines through a pay-for-performance mechanism: pharmaceutical firms would agree to provide drugs at cost anywhere they are needed, and in exchange be rewarded from a donor-created fund on the basis of the drug’s actual health impact. This model would encourage firms to make those investments in the development of new medicines that would promise the largest returns in terms of improved human health. The HIF proposal has gained attention in media outlets such as the Lancet and New York Times and is studied in global and public health programs throughout the world.
