Elena Elkina is the Co-founder and one of the Managing Partners at Aleada, a national, female- and minority-owned privacy, data protection, and information security firm based in Silicon Valley. She helps companies make sense of complex issues like AI, privacy, data protection, and security with clarity, strategy, and a dash of common sense. For over two decades, Elena has built and led enterprise privacy, data protection, and security programs across industries. She advises global organizations on AI risk, regulatory compliance, and the future of responsible tech. Her current work connects the dots between privacy requirements and next-gen AI tools that are intuitive, human-centered, and radically useful. Elena is also exploring how AI can reshape more personal spaces - fertility, wellness, and healthcare - by reducing overwhelm, empowering decision-making, and transforming how we understand our bodies. She believes AI’s real power is turning complexity into clarity at work, at home, and within ourselves. A Forbes Next 1000 honoree and recognized leader in AI governance and privacy, Elena serves as IANS Faculty and Co-Chair of the IAPP KnowledgeNet for Silicon Valley. She co-founded Women in Security and Privacy (WISP) in 2014 and helped grow it into a global community before stepping down after more than a decade of leadership. A Forbes Next 100 honoree and recognized leader in AI governance and privacy/data protection, she also serves as IANS Faculty and IAPP KnowledgeNext Co-Chair for Silicon Valley Chapter. Elena co-founded Women in Security and Privacy (WISP) in 2014 and was instrumental in creating its vision, building its foundation, and expanding it into a global movement. Her decade of leadership helped establish WISP as a leading, global force for equity and empowerment in the privacy and security industry. Elena received an LL.M. from Berkeley Law, where she focused on privacy, international law, and technology transactions and a law degree from the University of Russian Academy of Education in Moscow, Russia. Elena is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPP/IT, CIPM).
