I am currently building Venture for Africa, a talent acceleration and management firm that aims to help experienced, global and local non-tech talent upskill for, gain context in, and access open roles in the African startup ecosystem 🚀 Started my career with a pivot from civil engineering 👷🏾‍♂️ and joined a tech startup in Lagos 🇳🇬 focused on building and scaling community-driven recycling programs ♻️ This led me to a four-year stint at MEST Africa 🌍, an international non-profit that recruits, trains and invests in aspiring African software entrepreneurs 💪🏾 At MEST, I was brought on as hire #2 to support the launch of a new incubator 🏗. I went on to run operations for the Nigeria office 🇳🇬 and eventually spearheaded recruitment across all markets the organisation was active in. I led and managed recruitment processes and funnels in 5 key African markets 🇳🇬🇬🇭🇿🇦🇰🇪🇨🇮, initially recruiting founders across 11 companies eventually backed by $1.1 million in seed funding between 2018 and 2019💰. My most recent leap has been to dive even deeper into finding and recruiting talent 🤿, co-founding a startup called Venture for Africa 👨🏾‍💻 where we're creating pathways for experienced talent and mid-level operators to transition into African startups. Happy to connect with startups looking to hire experienced talent 🤝 or talent looking to make a move into fast-growing venture-backed companies in Africa 🌍.
