Senior executive with more than 30 years business development, sales and marketing experience. I love the chaos, innovation and opportunities presented by start-ups and early stage companies. I'm currently working on several Atlas portfolio companies and selective strategic consulting clients. The last several years have been focused on psychedelics, mental health and wellbeing. And of late a dive into decentralized identity, verifiable credentials and self-sovereign identity. The previous 6 years were all about hemp and the legal cannabis markets, focused on genetics. Working with companies like Benson Hill Bio, Front Range Bio, Davis Farms, Hendrx Farms, and others. Specialties: cannabis industry, industrialized hemp, cannabis and hemp genetics, business development, enterprise sales, sales process, adtech, martech, sales operations, call centers, CRM deployment, AdOps, digital publishing & monetization including CPC, CPA & eCPM, marketing, social media marketing, SEO, SEM, Paid Search, PPC & digital marketing, strategic planning, nominal group technique, non-profit & community organization, public speaking, writing, executive career coaching.

I'm a requirements engineer. After over 25 years of professional software development and entrepreneurial adventures, I've turned my attention to resolving the biggest obstacle to successful projects: clear, responsive requirements. With apologies to George Box, all requirements are wrong or incomplete or out-of-date as soon as they are written down. Some are useful. If the entire team isn't pulling in the same direction, you're wasting energy. Unfortunately, it can also be a waste of energy to develop extensive requirements specifications before starting work. Even worse, it is definitely a waste to rework and rework and rework because core requirements aren't being met. Even the best requirements need to change. The marketplace. Technology. People. Resources. Changes in any of these areas can require dramatic changes to your project. The trick is managing those changes in the most fluid and cost-effective way possible. I'm on a mission to better understand how to create, maintain, and apply truly responsive requirements.
