Tom Lombardi has over two decades of experience in investment banking, quantitative finance, and blockchain technologies such as bitcoin and DeFi. He went "all-in" on his career in crypto in 2016 after the realization of bitcoin's value proposition and the launch of the Ethereum network.
Tom is an Adjunct Professor of Finance at Pepperdine University teaching Crypto Finance in the Business School. He was formerly a Managing Director at 3iQ Digital Asset Management in Vancouver, a firm that launched the world's first regulated and listed bitcoin closed end fund. Prior to that, Tom was a founding member of Wave Digital Assets in Los Angeles, a Registered Investment Advisor exclusively managing crypto assets. He was also the Head of Growth for the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance, working with global companies on how to embrace blockchain technology.
Tom started his career in investment banking and quantitative finance at Bank of America. After graduating from the Graziadio Business School at Pepperdine University with an MBA, he worked at West Partners, a $500 million private equity firm.
Tom is an avid student of securities markets, financial regulations and market structures, particularly related to the intersection of TradFi and DeFi. He holds the Series 63, 65 and SIE securities licenses in the US and the CSC in Canada. Tom splits his time between Vancouver, BC and Los Angeles, CA. 
Jim focuses on blockchain/emerging tech business development and evangelism, especially between US & Japan. Formerly while at ConsenSys, he created and executed plans for their Tokyo office, sourced opportunities and partnerships with Japanese and US enterprises, evangelized Ethereum and decentralization, ran hackathons and events, and participated in the due diligence team for the in-house venture capital investment platform, Coven. Previously, he also served as VP of Strategic Alliances at ISI-Dentsu, the IT systems integrator group company of Dentsu, and worked in business development for LiDAR sensors used in autonomous vehicles.
A Silicon Valley techie with an entrepreneurial and cross-cultural mindset, Jim has many years of experience in international business development, partner strategy, product and software engineering. He especially understand the mindset of Japanese companies and customers and can eliminate “lost in translation” moments. He has a passion for breaking down cultural barriers and translating language and customs between American and foreign groups to bridge diverse cultures across people and help realize their business goals.
Receiving BSCS and MSCS degrees from Stanford, as a student Jim also studied at Stanford’s Center for Technology and Innovation (SCTI) in Kyoto. After graduating he worked as a software engineer for startups, investment banks, and research labs, and lived over 10 years in Japan.
