Matt Sarnecki is a producer, director and journalist at OCCRP. His documentary Killing Pavel won the Investigative Reporters and Editors Medal in 2017 and the DIG Award (Italy) in 2018. His documentary The Killing of a Journalist (2022) won several international film festivals, appeared in cinemas across Europe and was acquired by Netflix. Matt received a BA in political science from Columbia University in 2004, and a master’s in journalism at the University of California, Berkeley, in 2013. He held a Fulbright Teaching Assistantship at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, Czech Republic, in 2006-7. Matt resides in Bucharest, Romania.
