Mamoon Khalid recently served as the Head of AI / CTO at Vanse.ai, a venture-backed SaaS company that was acquired by Forum Ventures. Prior to that, he was Director of New Ventures at Civicom and Executive Director / Founding Partner at NetworkVC.org, where he led global syndication, deep-tech portfolio advisory, and enterprise innovation consulting across AI, ML, and robotics sectors—supporting over 60 companies and building partnerships with 300+ VC firms.
Until 2020, Mamoon was a Sr. Strategist and Portfolio Manager at Rokk3r Labs, a leading venture builder and VC firm managing $224M AUM. He led the firm’s deep-tech portfolio and helped design products like EmmaPresta—a B2B lending platform adopted by 50,000+ DAUs—and spearheaded a national AI healthcare proposal for Ecuador’s hospital system.
Earlier, Mamoon was Managing Partner at Accathon Capital, where he launched and directed cross-border accelerator programs bridging U.S. startups with Asian markets, and developed the SaaS platform BorderVC for APAC-US corporate-startup collaboration. He also served as a Senior Venture Capital Associate at Quake Capital, supporting 76 early-stage portfolio companies and leading automation of their deal review pipeline.
Before entering venture capital, Mamoon led product and strategy at three NYC-based startups. As a computer engineer and former Research Lead at NYU Langone Medical Center, he led development of Kinect-based autism/epilepsy monitoring systems and authored a peer-reviewed journal paper featured at the Medicine Meets Virtual Reality Conference (2016). His research focused on using machine learning for symptom analysis and concussion detection.
A staunch advocate for clean energy and smart infrastructure, Mamoon previously designed proprietary algorithms aimed at improving large-scale renewable battery storage by up to 300%. He holds two engineering degrees, is a green belt in Kyokushin Karate, and enjoys competitive squash.
