Silvia Domingo Irigoyen

Silvia Domingo Irigoyen holds a PhD in Architecture, her dissertation "Cost-effective renovation scenarios of residential buildings. Application to DOCOMOMO registered buildings in Pamplona” deals with the renovation of residential listed buildings adapting and implementing the cost effectiveness methodology proposed in the EPBD. This included the monitoring, simulation and economic analyses of 4 case studies. As part of her PhD studies she has conducted a research stay of 6 months at ETH Zurich, within the group Architecture & Sustainable Building Technologies. She received her MSc in Research in Applied Engineering at TECNUN in 2011. In 2010 she finished the degree of Architecture and a specialization program in Planning and Urban Development at the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra (ETSAUN). Since 2009 she is part of the research group SAVIArquitectura from the Department of Building Constuction, Services and Structures at ETSAUN. She is assistant teacher in the topics Building Construction "Facades and roofs" and Building Technologies "Supply Systems: Heating, Water and Gas" and "Electricity" and coordinates the subjects "Energy Management. Passive measures (6ECTS)" and "Building Environmental Certification (6ECTS)" of the Master's Degree in Environmental Design and Building Management from the University of Navarra. She is also working as a researcher at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (CH) at the Competence Center for Integrated Building Technology in the group Sustainable Construction and Renovation. Her research areas are sustainable building design and refurbishment, building construction and technologies, smart cities and urban renewal.
