Hi, I’m Michael. 👋🏼 I’m stirred by the big stuff: helping people live better lives, solving hard problems with heart and intellect, and building things that actually matter.
Right now, that focus shows up in three ways:
1) Personally: advocating for the Duchenne muscular dystrophy community and building tools that help speed up research and treatment discovery. In this world, time means muscle. Every day counts, and better tools can help move things faster.
2) Professionally: turning fuzzy problems into focused products. I figure out what matters, bring the right people together, and keep the work moving. I get deep in the details, push for clarity, and care a lot about what gets shipped and why it matters.
3) Intellectually: exploring how we make AI safe, aligned, and worthy of trust. I care about how systems behave, what they reveal, and whether they stay useful and human-centered as they scale.
Want to connect? I’m open to advising startups (especially founders from UT Austin, Carnegie Mellon, Baylor, or the U.S. veteran community), partnering on tools that accelerate Duchenne research and treatment, shaping responsible AI, or creating meaningful things with great teams.
