Christopher Webb is a cinematographer, photographer, technical director, and VFX artist. Through highly collaborative work with designers and creative directors, he has helped to create one-of-a-kind opening sequences, visual effects for feature films, and brand ID visuals. Chris has also done extensive commercial product work. Together with co-founder Graceann Dorse, Chris has built FX WRX, a highly specialized studio for in-camera effects cinematography. FX WRX offers technical and creative resources for the development and production of in-camera effects and design driven moving images. Specialty areas include animation, super slow motion, optical effects, motion control, miniatures, product work, and moving portrait cinematography. The goal of FX WRX is to create opportunities for the visual exploration of the moving image. Chris's work has been recognized with an Emmy Award for CNN's “The Seventies” on-air promo campaign, as well as Promax Broadcast Design Excellence Gold Awards for his contributions as an in-camera effects cinematographer and technical director. His work for Reebok’s ATV19 campaign received Adweek’s award for best cinematography. Chris is also honored to be a member of the Visual Effects Society. Before focusing solely on cinematography, Chris created theatrical effects and animatronic puppets for Broadway shows including "The Lion King" and "The Producers". He brings a wealth of expertise, having worked as a stop motion animator, sculptor, mechanical engineer, special effects artist, documentary filmmaker, and mechanical designer. Chris has been a working cinematographer based in New York City for twenty-five years. Additionally, for the last 15 years, Daniel has served as a resident technical improvisor at Amy Poehler’s Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in NYC where he can be found almost every Sunday working their flaghship show Asssscat. He still resides there but told linkedin he is not, so that it is not at the top of his work history.
